REJUVENATION
PROGRAM
1-2 stage program, proven to elimate trunk disease without losing fruit production
Stage One
STAGE ONE
Depending on the level of disease in the vine, STAGE ONE typically begins by cutting the vine back to the crown, before cane pruning the vine for a fruitful harvest, and ending by training a new vine (watershoot) in preparation for stage two.

(02) VINE PROTECTION
WOUND TREATMENT
The fresh cuts are treated to ensure disease does not re-enter the vine through the open wound.
Vinevax, an effective and natural fungus Trichoderma, formulated to support colonisation of fresh re-worked and pruning wounds, is applied within 24 hours.

(04) TRELLISING
RE-WIRING
Before we can begin pruning or training, re-wiring must be completed to secure the new cordon wire. This process will include wire running, stapling, straining and tightening, working strategically with any 'highs and lows' within the block.

(06) VINE TRAINING
TRAINING
For the purpose of the 2-stage rejuvenation process, a strong, healthy and well positioned watershoot will be top tied and trained to the wire in order to replace the old/diseased vine during the second stage, in the following year/s.

(01) VINE REJUVENATION
FIRST CUT
The MaxiCut Program begins with Vine Rejuvenation, using hydraulic Vine Shears to easily cut through tough vines and strong wires. The cordons are cut at the crown of the vine, strategically leaving behind suitable canes to be pruned for the following harvest.

(03) VINEYARD CLEAN-UP
DISPOSAL

After the cordons have been pulled from the trellis and placed mid-row, the specially manufactured 'Vine Claw' will efficiently collect and pile the rubbish. A hand clean up is carried out to ensure no rubbish is left behind and the pile is disposed of safetly.

(05) PRUNING
CANE PRUNING
Strong, healthy canes are carefully and strategically selected, while the remaining canes are cut back and the wounds sprayed with Vinevax. The selected canes are then trimmed, wrapped/arched and tied to the wire.

Stage Two
STAGE TWO
Once the new vine (trained watershoot) is ready to replace the old/diseased vine, STAGE TWO will begin by cutting back to the trunk, and ends by strategically pruning the new vine in preparation for fruitful harvest and a trunk disease-free vineyard.

(02) VINE PROTECTION
WOUND TREATMENT
The fresh cut is then treated for the final time. The wound is sprayed with Vinevax within 24 hours of the cut being made to ensure disease does not re-enter the vine.

(01) VINE REJUVENATION
SECOND CUT
The second stage starts with cleanly cutting back the vine at the trunk, leaving behind the trained shoot which then becomes the new vine.

(03) VINEYARD CLEAN-UP
DISPOSAL

The final clean-up is carried out, disposing of the old trunks. The rubbish will then be disposed of as requested by the vineyard owner and depending on current council regulations.
