PROGRAM

MaxiCut provides a holistic, end-to-end program across a 1-2 stage process that incorporates vine rejuvenation, wound application, rewiring, clean-up, pruning and the process of training new shoots to replace the old/diseased vine, without losing production!

Using the MaxiCut system is ensuring vineyard owners are proactively protecting their vineyard from vine disease and achieving higher, better quality yields!

VINEYARD REJUVENATION PROGRAM

STAGE ONE

Depending on the level of disease in the vine, STAGE ONE typically begins by cutting the vine back to the crown, before cane pruning the vine for a fruitful harvest, and ending by training a new vine (watershoot) in preparation for stage two.​ Stage two includes:​​

ELIMINATE EUTYPA

Eutypa dieback is a major trunk disease in vineyards. The fungus grows slowly, causing stunted shoots and progressively killing spurs, cordons, trunks and eventually the entire vine.

The MaxiCut program provides Eutypa treatment, removing the disease over a 1-2 stage process.

We have seen our yields increase by up to 100% in this first year.  Once our watershoots have developed, in approximately two years, we are able to cut out the main trunk and train the new vine to the wire.   Use of eutypa protecting sprays is important when all cuts are made to protect the vine from reinfection.​

I have been most impressed with the MaxiCut system and the knowledge that John and his team freely impart to enable this system of reworking.  The teams are efficient, clean and professional with their work.​

The greatest benefit that I can see from this system for our vineyard is that we can still continually produce fruit, in fact higher yields, while training up our new vines.
